Hi. Thanks for sharing this Idea! Cryptocurrency micropayments sounds really cool right :) Like any other leading technology company Microsoft is already testing blockchain.
Although I don’t have any information about cryptocurrency adoption for Skype or any other MS product, please keep continue supporting this Idea. I will share it with our teams :)
Note: I’ve edited the title of this Idea little bit so it fits to cryptocurrencies generally ;)

    Hi there,

Yesterday I shared an idea of enabling premium profiles. A few hours ago Tyler Winklevoss published the same idea but related to emails. So you can see the upcoming changes :)
https://twitter.com/tylerwinklevoss/status/1127615400055902210 He said in his Tweet:

    - I can't wait until crypto makes email market-based. Sending an email to @elonmusk and effectively renting his time to read it would have a price, sending an email to someone else would have another price, and so on.
Everyone's email could be public as long as they were priced right, which would be set by them and could be adjusted at any time. Friends and family would be whitelisted so they didn't have to pay your digital postage fee.

So my idea seems legit and pretty cool.

This is my favorite quote and let me share this with you:
Out on the edge, you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center. Big, undreamed-of things - the people on the edge see them first (Kurt Vonnegut)
We could be the people on the edge and we are.

    Hello there,

Unfortunately, I was not able to post more updates. I won't be available for some time. But here is a new idea for you.

If Skype enables crypto payments, then Business people can create business profiles and get paid for different services. The profiles can create a list of offers, make it public so that everyone can access and check them. Just like Warrior Forum is doing https://www.warriorforum.com/warriors-hire/ but without third-paty applications.

Skype can successfully replace Freelance services. It's a well-known fact that clients and freelancers prefer to talk through Skype. Crypto payments and smart contracts can change the whole system of Skype.

With Crypto Skype can offer a better solution than earn.com by enabling Premium profiles.

    Etc.

I would be more than happy to know that we've got some progress on this.

    Cheers,

    Dave

    Dear Petr,

I'd love to hear your thoughts or some update. If and when you decide to implement cryptocurrencies, please consider me as a BETA TESTER.
Recently, I downloaded MS BOTbuilder and have been reading the docs at https://dev.skype.com/ and building a small app. But to be honest, I'd love to see something big for XRP, on-ledger payments, etc. At the moment, and I know this is not something you were looking for, but Crypto Media refers to you as "Petr from Skype" and for all of us, you're a bridge and a window to the future.

I kindly ask you, pretty please, do your best to make it happen.

    Kind regards,

    Dave

A couple of reasons why your vote matters! Yes, I’m talking to you, reader!

The Chinese often quote this saying: "Every journey begins with the first step".
As Kennedy once said, change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future.

That's true. The old order changes yielding place to new.

These days, organizational survival rely is dependent on the company’s capacity to outdo its competition in the marketplace by pulling ideas in, as well as pooling talents and capital to fortify positions and taking control of the competition. Financials systems are being disrupted by Blockchain, a direct, efficient and secure environment of transaction and exchange of full range financial instruments such as stocks, bonds, cash, wages, benefits, and airline miles.

    Did you miss the latest?
International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde said Wednesday that blockchain is having a clear impact on the banking sector and
Distributed Ledger Technologies like cryptocurrencies and digital assets are "shaking the system.

Every now and then a man's mind is stretched by a new idea and never shrinks back to its former dimensions.

By publishing "Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System" Satoshi Nakamoto paved the way for the first blockchain based token and allowed us to do for money what the Internet did for data.

We are more connected across borders than ever before.
And now, it's up to us to shape the world that we want.
Think about the world you want to live in.
We cannot take the future for granted.
With all the challenges we are facing, we need to respond to the future. Build a better, smart future!
We need to stand up for the idea of the digital revolution!
    Digital transformation is inevitable!
Voting means you care about your future!
    Your vote matters.
Odds are you may have a real impact at making it happen if you stay plugged into what's going.
Never leave that for tomorrow which you can do today.

    Kind regards,
    David

    UPDATE:
Why people still love Facebook? Because it always brings awesome user-friendly updates.
    With MicroPayments we can:
    - Send Greeting & Note Cards (For example, want to avoid missing somebody's special day when it comes to sending out unique greeting cards?
Create Escrow Transaction on XRPL - Escrow is a feature of the XRP Ledger that allows you to send conditional XRP payments. These conditional payments, called escrows, set aside XRP and deliver it later when certain conditions are met. In this Video, which I grabbed earlier this year, can see how Escrow feature is working https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7inwKB1iYyg)
    - Buy SkypeCredits
    - Generate QR code (including address and destination tag) when having a conversation with a friend (using Skype chat window) to receive a payment
    - Send MicroDonations
    - Connect Windows IoT Core + Skype + XRPL to control smart home products
    - Generate Invoice (These days a lot of people use Freelance websites. In my case, I created a contact list of Freelancers on Skype. Crypto Invoice feature could help us hire Freelancers for micro-tasks directly on Skype)
    - Use Multi-Sign tool when having a skype conference with business partners or friends
    - if someone wants more transparency, he/she can display his Balance in the Mood section (like I did with my Twitter widget which can be found here: https://parisbydavid.com/category/blog/ right sidebar)

A lot of things can be done, I don't want to share more ideas, as I'd love to build some Add-Ins for Skype in this becomes reality.
    Regards,
    Dave

    FAQ:
    1. What is the Destination Tag for XRP
Destination Tags are a feature of XRP Ledger payments can be used to indicate the beneficiary or destination for a payment. For example, an XRP Ledger payment to a gateway may include a destination tag to indicate which customer should be credited for the payment.
    2. What service do transaction validators provide?
Validators determine if transactions meet protocol requirements, and are therefore “valid.” The service validators uniquely provide is grouping transactions into ordered units, agreeing on one such ordering specifically to prevent double spending. ( Get more information: https://developers.ripple.com/technical-faq.html#validators-and-unique-node-lists)
3.Does Ripple own or control the XRP Ledger or XRP Ledger network?
No, Ripple does not own or control the XRP Ledger or XRP Ledger network. Ripple does publish a reference implementation of the core XRP Ledger server (rippled https://github.com/ripple/rippled ) and employs a team of engineers who contribute to the open-source codebase.
    4. What is Consensus?
The XRP Ledger uses a consensus algorithm to resolve the double spend problem and choose which transactions to execute in which order. Consensus also governs rules of transaction processing. (read more https://developers.ripple.com/consensus-network.html)

    Minor update:
Many people won't understand some key differences between XRP and most UTXO-based cryptocurrencies and for those who read this thread and is still in doubt please read the following explanation by David Schwartz.
    1. Accounts can change their secret keys without having to move funds or change their receiving address. If you think someone you can’t trust might know your secret key in most other cryptosystems, you must move all your money and change your receiving address and any new funds sent to the old address are at risk. With XRP, you can change your keys any time you want.
If you would like to see this in action, follow the link to my personal blog https://www.davidolliver.com/how-to-disable-your-master-key/ I've made a VIDEO demo + added an additional explanation.
    2. Accounts can hold assets other than XRP on the ledger. Accounts can place offers to trade one asset for another. Accounts can specify what assets they are willing to receive as payments. Payments can be made across assets using powerful pathfinding and increment execution features to minimize costs.
    3. Accounts can allow other accounts to sign on their behalf. Powerful m-of-n authorization schemes can be configured on accounts and changed as needed. Signers can rotate their own keys without involving the other signers.
    4. Accounts can extend credit to other accounts and form complex peer-to-peer lending networks. Pathfinding allows payments to navigate these networks and take advantage of liquidity wherever it may be.

Minor update for those who want to have more info:
Ripple has released a major network upgrade of XRP Ledger, version 1.2.0 which introduces the MultisignReserve Amendment, which reduces the reserve requirement associated with signer lists for Multisign.

One of the major benefits of decentralized XRP Ledger is censorship resistance. Already highly resistant to censorship attempts, with the release of version 1.2.0 of the XRP Ledger, servers now have the ability to automatically detect transaction censorship attempts and issue warnings of increasing severity for transactions that a server believes should have been included in a closed ledger after several rounds of consensus.

Yesterday, the developer of the XRPTipBot has introduced a new powerful tool: XRPL-MultiSign which can be found at https://github.com/WietseWind/XRPL-MultiSignTool

    Benefits of multi-signing include:

You can require keys from different devices so that a malicious actor must compromise multiple machines to send transactions on your behalf.
You can share custody of an address between multiple people, each of whom only has one of several keys necessary to send transactions from that address.
You can delegate the power to send transactions from your address to a group of people, who can control your address if you are unavailable or unable to sign normally.
    ... (Source: https://developers.ripple.com/multi-signing.html )

Why I switched from ETH to XRP?
    - Powerful protection mechanism
    - Instant payment settlement
    - Ridiculously low fees
    - Doesn't have a counter-party
    - It's decentralized: https://minivalist.cinn.app/
    - It enables Coil (a revolutionary tool which uses an open API in order to pay sites in real-time ) to use it for Web monetization
    - It was designed to solve real problems
    - Since no new XRP can ever be created, this makes XRP more scarce and benefits all holders of XRP by making XRP more valuable.
    - Rather than running applications as "smart contracts" in the network itself, the XRP Ledger provides tools for settling contracts, while letting the applications themselves run anywhere, in whatever environment or container is appropriate.
    - A "51% attack" is an attack on a blockchain system where one party controls more than 50% of all mining or voting power. The XRP Ledger is not vulnerable to a 51% attack because it does not use mining in its consensus mechanism.
    - You can protect against unwanted incoming payments for non-XRP currencies by not creating trust lines in those currencies
    - The XRPL network is opt-in. Each participant directly or indirectly chooses its UNL. Should Ripple stop operating participants could change their UNLs to continue using the XRPL
    - XRP is 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆 https://twitter.com/parisbydavid/status/1097791377692389376

Hope this helps beginners and newcomers.
    Kind regards,
    Dave
P.S. Not being biased, trying to be realistic and I always act based on my own experience and vision. And I just shared it with you :)
    Thanks again!

    Petr,
Thanks for your comments and contribution. As an early investor of ETH I'm familiar with it and I've built my first application on ETH blockchain.
    However, things changed;
    Sentiments have changed: https://twitter.com/vitalikbuterin/status/1077548790272405504?lang=en;
    Market paradigms have changed.

    The reality is:

    Raw Processing Speed (On-chain)

    • XRP: 1,500 TPS
    • Ethereum: 15 TPS
    • Bitcoin: 6 TPS

Average full confirmation times for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP:

All this time, I've been doing a lot of researches about Blockchain and I've written a couple of articles too. In case you want to have a look at them:
    1. https://www.davidolliver.com/the-truth-about-banks-the-future-of-blockchain-and-the-impact-of-ripple-on-financial-institutions/
    2. https://www.davidolliver.com/how-will-blockchain-revolutionize-the-global-financial-system-2/
    3. https://www.davidolliver.com/debunking-digital-myths-demystifying-fiat-currencies-the-evolution-of-the-ledger-and-xrp-as-a-strategic-weapon/

But I highly recommend you to read the following blog by David Schwartz: https://www.distributedagreement.com/2019/03/01/what-are-blockchains-good-for/

We want something better than PoW and I think we deserve something better, a secure, fast, smart and reliable system and not the one which is vulnerable: https://twitter.com/1reizu/status/1081957362393587713
Look at this excitement, MicroDonations have become the main trend on CT thanks to #XRP. As of now 64562.786786 XRP -> donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Source: https://www.xrptipbot.com/u:stjude/n:twitter ).
Words are not needed if your actions speak loud enough for you.

As a developer, as a journalist, as a dreamer, as someone who loves tech, I truly believe this excitement will continue and you guys will change the world by listening to so many voices.

Again, thanks for the time you're giving to this idea. We're happy and waiting for a positive reply :)

Thank you for your reply, Petr. You actually made my day! We'll try to keep alive this conversation. And we honestly believe the future belongs to cryptocurrencies.
I offered XRP because, in my opinion, being a native digital asset of the decentralized XRP ledger, it is the fastest, cheapest and most scalable digital asset offering instant, secure and reliable payment solution, + without a counter-party.
Recently I introduced it to Rakuten Marketing team and they find it revolutionary. Aside from the reasons offered earlier, you may also want to consider the number of independent developers who work on XRPL to provide ultimate applications.
I'm really unable to repress my excitement.
To sum up, XRP has huge potential to enable micropayments through your network.
    Love you!
    Dave

I forgot to add: XRPTipBot has been added to Amazon Alexa as well. https://github.com/nixer89/xrptipbot-alexa-skill Skype should add this incredibly popular and powerful tool for MicroPayments and MicroDonations. #IoV
