We realize moving away from older versions of Skype is an inconvenience and we’re sorry for that. We wouldn’t be moving everyone forward if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Watch this site for news about features we’re adding to the current version of Skype and reach out to @SkypeSupport on Twitter if you need help getting settled in the new app.

We used to categorize your submissions with lists of multiple requests, however we’re overwhelmed now. Going forward we will only accept submissions with single requests. It will help us to better prioritize which features we will work on next and understand what is most important for you.

I feel exactly the same. I messaged microsoft through their chat, and the response was that it's a social feature and other companies do the same. I explained that skype is not a social platform and I got the answer that it is, since it helps people communicating. My responce was that telephone companies help people communication but don't share our contacts.
Anyway. This is a violation of privacy. I don't mind that this feature exists, but I really DO mind that there is no option to disable it, which is the real violation.
It is also a violation according to GDPR, I have no ability to control who gets private information for my person.
