Any news on the possibility of disabling spellcheck? Writing a small i is very cumbersome. Skype turns it into a capital I.

The small i is used in several Nordic countries. Here's one way of achieving it: write something. Make sure there are two spaces where you want the i to be. Go back after writing at least one letter after the two spaces. Put the i there, but DO NOT use the spacebar. Use the arrow keys to pick up where you left off in order to insert the i. Alternatively, write ii (two i's), a space, and the next letter you want to write. Then go back and delete one of the i's. Again, use arrow keys (or mouse) to continue writing.

This post uses this method. Otherwise, they would be all capital i's.

    Happy, Microsoft?

Feedback and Report A Problem buttons do not respond. Not inpressive. However, it makes it harder to give feedback, which is kind of clever.

Anyway, the problem at hand: Spell check cannot be disabled inside skype, and interferes with the language I use for typing.

Proposal: Allow disabling spell check. Cannot believe this needs to be proposed....

We hear you. We love Skype version 7 too. We’re working to build the Skype experience you’ve come to depend on for so long on today’s platforms for today’s user. It would be impossible to bring back the full catalog of features available in previous versions of Skype all at once, our engineering systems just don’t work that way. We are committed to evolving the current Skype experience to match your needs over time. As we release new Skype features, we’ll update this site. You can also follow @Skype and @SkypeInsider on Twitter for the latest news too.
Thank you all for your feedback.
