Thank you all for the feedback. We are continuously working to improve the quality of Skype. Please feel free to report any crashes or performance issues on answers.microsoft.com including steps that lead to a crash so that the community can help troubleshoot the issue.
Some of the most consistent feedback we’ve received from you has to do with sounds and how you are notified about the goings on in Skype 8. We understand that all of these things are important for you and we are working on it.

We hear your feedback and are looking into options to make sure you can more easily access your history in Skype.
In the mean time you can use Export Chat History in settings to export your Skype 7 conversations on your computer. From there you can open the conversations in a browser and search using the browser search command.
