Credit Support for Iranian Students
I have a request and wanted to share an idea with you about that. You may have heard from the news that due to the protests, the Internet in Iran has been shut down for about more than 48 hours and it is not clear at all whether the government is willing to allow Iranians to use the internet again.
Because of that, many Iranian students studying abroad cannot reach their loved ones in any way. Most of us have been using the Skype trial credit to contact our families (via their mobile or landline phones), however, I was wondering whether in terms of corporate social responsibilities and supporting the most fundamental human right you can provide promotions to the Iranian students around the world?
I am totally mindful that it might be a huge burden for the Skype team, but considering a promotion solution for the Iranian students not only helps them to connect to their love ones, it definitely enhances your status and reputation among telecommunications applications.
You know better how to decide about this situation, but one way to do this might be to ask about the Iranian students’ university badge as an identification/verification method, and also you can either provide discounts to these students or increase the trial credits for these affected people.
We students are frequently in contact with each other, and if there is an agreement to this solution, we guarantee to have lots of posts on the social media, particularly Twitter to appreciate your considerations. Even recently, because of the internet shutdown, most of the students are recommending each other to use the trial credits to contact the parents.
Thanks for your understanding and considering this case.
All the best,
