Add multiple features to Skype
Thank you all for sharing your ideas! We have a lot of great feedback from you and we really appreciate it! We love the passion!
We used to categorize your submissions with lists of multiple requests, however we’re overwhelmed now. Going forward we will only accept submissions with single requests. It will help us to better prioritize which features we will work on next and understand what is most important for you.
Thanks for joining our community and helping improve Skype!
PLEASE ADD THE FOLLOWING
A great idea: Bring back the old Sky, silk audio engine and H264 usable with the appropriate web cam. I hate Skype modern. CPU drainer, multiple sessions in task manager 100% CPU in videocalls. You name it how many bad things there are. Regards and thanks for not listening
1. I have many chats on Skype that are unwanted and I would simply prefer to delete them all at once.
2. I do not want to have a Skype account anymore, yet I have to keep it because it's linked to my MS account and I have purchased items from the store.
Take more pride in Skype and deliver a decent product instead of removing features (like voicemail greetings), seeing who complains, then tallying votes to see what to bring back.
Our lives are not an A/B test for God's sake.
Bring back voice greetings. Does Microsoft really need to kill everything it touches?
So far, the answer is yes. What a bummer.

I want to change my skype name but you removed this options it from skype years ago. I want this to come back. in addition, I want to can my skype account unlink from my microsoft account (ıt like I can delete the youtube account from my google account.).
Please make it so that all skype can have different private windows like it use to
and the ability to make the screen size smaller it is to large for computers lap top and desk top it takes up half the screen and if you try to resize it it closes the contacts.

Are you still overwhelmed? I want to keep track what you are prioritizing to push you on what are real matter. Don't point me back to here because this page is like an anger recycle bin. Don't you have anything like GitHub?
Overhelmed by user voices who have to explain how to do the job? In other words, overhelmed by their own incompetency. One last recommendation: send the whole skype team to sabbatical or even better, let them open a bakery or something...and then go for real engineers. Good luck.
Good day! Add old features such as: 1 to Skype. ability to view messages in chat rooms for the previous days, without scrolling the wheel on the mouse, and the transition to a specific day, as it was in the old version of Skype. 2. ability to move pop-UPS (notifications) Skype yourself up or down the screen. Thank you!

GET EMAIL ALERT WITH MISSED CALL AND VOICEMAIL REGARDLESS OF IF YOU ARE LOGGED IN! CUSTOMIZE YOUR VM GREETING! BOTH SHOULD BE STANDARD SERVICES WHEN PURCHASING A LINE TO RECEIVE CALLS.
Explain to me what idiot decided it would be a good idea to NOT allow people to export entire conversations? Did this come from upper management? Something along the lines of — what's the dumbest thing we can possibly do to **** off users? If so, by gosh, they nailed it!
A) Allow users to export entire conversations with a less than 5 mouse clicks.
B) Allow users to download all media associated with a conversation using less than 5 mouse clicks.
C) Banish whomever is preventing A+B to work on DOS 7.
There are a couple of gotchas. Since the update, which is mostly fantastic there have been features that were removed that I wished were preferences. see below.
The option to hear a ding or light up the icon when you get a new message. I and many of my colleagues miss IM's all the time because there is no alert, so you are either needing to check all of the time or you risk missing a message. I work from home and it leads those in the office to think I am not at my desk, when I am.
The autocorrect no longer works off of my system settings. If i have auto correct on, which i do, it does not change "i" to "I" for example.
Copy and paste of files is no longer supported, I now have to browse for the file when I have it copied to my clipboard. Additionally there is too much clicking. If I open the search using the “+” I’d like to click back into the chat window and have the search box disappear.
I first downloaded skype about 15 years ago - used it once. I might have used it again at some point but for it[s insidious operating mode.
Every time I have some issue with a machine I find skype chugging away in the background and I know that it is supposed to be suspended in the background, probably for performance reasons but I want to know that its only on when I want it and off when I don't.
I run some pretty intensive stuff at times like streaming and knowing that stuff is hogging memory or perhaps even cpu makes it irritating if I can't even compare performance with and without it active.
It is not an issue having Skype default as running with a new installation as it makes users aware that it is there but it should be about user choice.... wait - wasn't there a big case about that years ago?!? I think someone fired the lessons learned guy?
Ok, rant done, I just ask for this simple feature set to be returned.
1. Option for skype not to be started at windows startup,
2. Option for skype to be terminated and stay terminated when we need it off
You may think of other things to go with that so I'll leave that up to you guys or others who might comment with other complimentary ideas.
By the way, I'm not a skype or msft hater, I just want to be in control of my configuration and unless I have complete control I'm not going to use any of the out of control stuff - might even start looking for alternatives.
I'm Mr Average, as it seems, so please consider that in your analysis and prioritisations.
oh I see - "your idea is being processed" So you only post ones you think suitable?
how about ALL the features it used to have, like split windows, the ability to change font to your preferred size, and just about everything skype was before you destroyed it?
Who cares about a million emotes or whatever you choose to call them now, or it looking like the smart phone ap; this is a computer program - try to make the AP work like the full thing!
And stop datamining!

1. FINDING CONTACTS. Originally, user could find by phone, username, or email address another contact user.
2. Importing contacts from other sources (from yahoo, google, etc) should be a generic LOCAL import file(CSV,TAB delimited,HTML).. at ANY TIME.
provide means of erasing chat history, call history. Or also automatic erasing over one week or such
1.) Bring back the "start skype at windows start" button back. So we can actually deactivate skype from starting with windows.
2.) Bring back the
"Quit Skype" button in the system tray. The only way to quit skype at this point is quiting skype in task manager, that's horrible.
These are 2 main functions which are supposed to be in every software and you disabled them?
Are you trolling?
Hello, I use Skype for a long time and over time it has become very complicated to use. In the past it was simple you have a private contact list and that's it. Now it's like social media not a messenger with the "people you may know section" for example. I encountered 2 issues in the past months:
1. Not being able to delete blocked contacts (i want the contacts to be blocked and deleted, not unblock and delete)
2. Unknown people in the search section -> people part and unable to clear the list.
I want my Skype list to be clean, nice and private. i am not able to do it lately. I like Skype and if you can resolve these 2 issues it would be lovely and very helpful.
