Please give us the option to turn off automatic updates. At the current way, it doesn't even ask permission to install the updates. We as users need more control over the update process. We don't want Skype controlling us.

Did you think at least for a minute, that I may have more urgent things to do on my desktop than skype update. May be it's a good idea to upade when I decide, not Microsoft.

I agree, also dislike it very much, that one doesn't at least get informed on the changes in detail, to have a choice. In my case of desktop use, by every update "my" desktop icon is removed from it's position to be reinstalled at the left uppermost corner, what I hate!:), and skype is typed by capital: Why me as a private person can't choose the position and the way of text/ typing of my icons on my desktop how I prefer it?, -certainly not difficult to change again, but simply annoying!
Automatic updating is a simple way for MS to force their garbage down our throats. It's painful to see how they avidly go on mutilating a once terrific and perfectly funtional application. Simply painful. I am considering alternatives.
