Bring back the search functionality as it was in previous classic version + add/improve other search features
Bring back the Search functionality. (as it was in previous classic version)
Currently the searching functionality is not up to the mark. As in earlier skype versions a user can search anything in a particular chat, but currently it seems very distracting as it search the whole skype history and user can not find the exact results for which he/she is searching.

For ***** sake, please bring back old features. This new Skype 8 is pure garbage. For once, listen to your customers.
still no search function after almost one year. Yes MS, the search now is equal no search at all.
DOS could make it better for twenty years, such improvement from you.

Put back Search feature (search words in chat) in the latest version (188.8.131.52) like the previous one
The search functionality also not working well. When i search some label what i entered 2 days before and i tried to search then it just shows the number. it is not working as like old skype where when we search some keywords and it goes to there where it actually post in visual.
Incorporate contains search as it doesn't make any sense with having exact word search.
text search in chat only work with whole words.
It would be no results if I type "prob" wenn I want to find "problem" or "probe" or "probable".
It was fine in v.7 but now it should be the whole word typed, not the part of it.
It is nonsense. Is ist 70` or 80` ? Make it right please.
So this is a BUG, which MS calls a feature.
Actually make the search for messages look through the chat history, not just the latest loaded messages. I can't find old messages I want to because it doesn't actually look for anything that isn't currently loaded and just says it doesn't exist. Skype Classic wasn't perfect for this, but if you pressed the up arrow it would look through old messages and load messages from that day.
i suggest that you revert skype search back to the way it was. the new search is COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY worthless. complete garbage
The problem is that it finds only words that match exactly to my search. It doesn't see my word inside longer word.
I have words in my history:
And I want to find word exactness, but I don't remember in what ending I used it 3 months ago.
So I write in the search "exact".
In current condition it shows me only 1 result
But Skype 7 was clever, it showed me 3 results. And I could choose myself what spelling I need.
For now I can't find "exactness" because:
- I'm not a native speaker and don't know the spelling
- I made a typo 3 months ago and wrote "exactnAss"
When I was not sure at all I could use only "ex" in Skype 7, and it returned me all my 6 words
But YOUR 8-th version shows me ZERO matches )))) It's auful.

The "Find messages in current conversation" does not work (does not return any result) if the messages were sent via SMS
In Skype 8 and UWP, when you click into the Messages area of the Search field on the main screen (Ctrl-Shift-S), the following text is displayed to guide the user as to what can be done there (unless you previously dismissed the message, in which case it's not displayed):
"Search for messages in your current chat or in all chats"
The only problem is that's apparently not true. It should read:
"Search for messages in all chats"
Because that's all that you can do in that area when it comes to searching messages.
In order to search for messages in your current chat, you must use Ctrl-F, which is in an entirely different place (the chat area) and is unrelated to Ctrl-Shift-S.
It's misleading to state that the Ctrl-Shift-S area can do both, since it leads the user on a wild goose chase over something that can't be done currently without using a separate part of the program (Ctrl-F).
Bring back the ability to search messages that are from the beginning of when you started talking to a person.
You used to be able to ctrl+F and search back through the entire conversation history. Now it only goes back... a few days? It makes searching for past information very, very difficult. I'd like to be able to search for anything at any time in the conversation history.

It's there now with Find feature in chat boxes.
It would be so convenient to be able to search for messages by date or to be able to jump to a certain date rather than having to scroll back through thousands of messages. Seems like it would be very easy to add.
When searching for a common contact like , say ... ABC Mobile , which is a mobile number of a relative in my country and within 10km , Search throws up someone else somewhere globally as
ABC-Mobile This looks like and is not ( save for the hyphen) my relative who lives next door. It is just someone else in some other time zone with their computer off or otherwise a dead account. In any event, ABC mobile looks like ABC-Mobile. Us users just chose the same method for abbreviating contact IDs. Search should properly include the country or time zone otherwise we are just at risk of waking up people we don't know..
track back history by month
if you can add chat search using date, previous version we can search messages using date but new version it can't
