I think everyone agrees that the redesigned Skype 8 is cumbersome and difficult to use
Instead of beating a dead horse and reiterating all of the ideas below, my suggestions for the new Skype 9 are simple:
- Skype is the only messaging app that I know of that doesn't allow me to use my volume buttons to snap a picture. Please bring that back. One handed operation of any app is pretty standard these days and it's absolutely absurd to force users to use the button on the screen to take a picture. It becomes even more cumbersome if you're trying to record a video.
- The new message notification is so unobtrusive that I can't even hear it anymore. Either let us customize it with sounds that are already built in to our phones or give us a few options that will let us decide how loud we want the notification to be
I'm sorry, your link above is not taking me to any survey where I can rank how important a given item is.

The design work for this feature was already done. Just copy what was in Skype 7 as fast as possible.
As an absolute MUST DO, I'd consider repairing the application so it doesn't crash immediately at startup, which the GNU/Linux version (all since 8.30) does.
For now (since several month !), Skype is completely unusable on GNU/Linux.
