Allow to select more than single message
In Skype 7 I was able to select multiple lines of conversation, copy them and paste. In current Skype 12.1815 I can only select single message. This limitation is annoying and unbelivable...
Thank you for the feedback. We’re still working on enabling this capability. In the meantime you can right click on a message, click the “Select message” option and pick different messages to copy or forward.
Thank you for your patience.
what a useless programme. as good as free. . .
A full year later and still no ability to do this. This is beyond bush league. This is such a basic feature. And such a necessary feature. Come on Microsoft, get your act together.

Totally unacceptable. Restore the 'Skype Classic' features NOW

I Agree with you. This function of selecting multiple conversations should not even be requested, as it is basic for any application like Skype
What a joke. Starting with V8 (I think) we lost all of our old history. It seems now history is limited. AND, now I find out that to copy-paste a conversation I have to click a stupid circle next to every single message that was sent?
Looking for alternative for Skype because even though I have struggled to keep using it it has finally got to the point where it does not meet the minimum requirements.

It is possible to select more than one message in 126.96.36.199. The username and time between messages is copied as inline text, but not the username and time of the first.
Example, copying two messages from Bob, the first at 06:56, the second at 07:04:
Yes, I was afraid I hadn't done it properly.Bob, 07:04Thanks. I added Bill too.

"ON THE BACKLOG" ... "We’re still working on enabling this capability."
Either you're working on it, or it's on the backlog. Which is it?
And once again, why wasn't this tested and guaranteed working before starting to retire Skype 7? (Or better, before releasing Skype 8 in the first place.)
Multi select has worked fine in windows since at least windows 3.1 in 1991. Why do you use a application model that has less functionality than what was available 27 years ago?
Haven't you noticed that the only one who writes UWP applications is Microsoft? No One who has an application with adult users releases UWP Apps (unless you, Microsoft, paid them to do an app)....have you ever stopped, and took a few steps back and wondered why they don't write UWP apps?
Not one single of my customers have even brought up UWP when discussing how to evolve their systems. The only time an UWP is mentioned is when someone is making a joke, complaining about how windows degenerate with each version or when bring up a really bad example of how not o do things.
On Version 12, you can't copy and paste a thread of conversations, but on Version 8 you can. HOWEVER, Microsoft, please take a look at this. On V7, it was organized beautifully with the time *AND* the date, not to mention the person's full name! Let's take a look at how it is on V7:
[9/11/2018 10:07:09 PM] Amanda Harris: As you can see. I have my hands full at the moment.
[9/11/2018 10:07:29 PM] Dom Dzake: ok no problem
Then, the new version:
I'll keep you posted.
Amanda, 9:39 PM
Um... can we see the HUGE difference? Yes, we can. On V8, it is scattered and hard to follow! Please, for pete sake, let's learn from everything that worked on Classic and worked great, at that. Skype was better than all the other social messaging platforms and, then, they decide to downgrade. It hasn't made sense.

Every time I think of "omg what they've done to Skype 7 calling it Skype 8", I cannot realize why they decided to destroy Skype 7 user experience in such a weird way. Copy/pasting single messages is extremely annoying.
I am horrified by this!! I wasn't on Skype 8 long enough to notice this one, as there were so many other problems!! There are times where it is A MUST for me to copy and paste long conversations between myself and another contact, where it shows the date and time. I, once said that you couldn't pay me a billion dollars to use the new version and that still stands. I mean... WOW!! We want it to work like Skype version 7, indeed!! I urge everyone to continue signing the petition to keep Classic Skype. The more I find out, I get even more stressed out and scared.
I would not know how to follow the directions from the other comment, unfortunately, and why should we have to go through all this trouble? I'm still in shock.
easy, takes 5s to fix, just set the multiSelect property of the listbox to true .....unless you have hardcoded a listbox in html from scratch...and you will now need to spend days implementing ctrl'click, shift'click, arrow keys, shift'space, ctrl'space and so on......and don't forget mouse box selection as well.....good luck!
PS you should ofcourse still be able to possition your self in the list with the alpa-numeric characters on the keyboard, without affecting current selection....active item != item with focus != selected item(s)
