Customization for hotkeys and shortcuts
Once again, like in Skype 7, which can both change global hotkeys and local shortcuts.
Global hotkeys are now available in Skype for Windows 10 Insiders build! We are also working on a shortcut for answering a call. It should be available soon. Check it out and let me know how it works for you. I will keep you posted.

What the... Are you seriously assigning Ctrl+M and Ctrl+E as global hotkeys?! This simple type of combination is has local functionality in thousands of programs. For example, my text editor and my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) both use both of these shortcuts. I can't believe a company such as microsoft did not realize that global hotkeys need to be a bit less common. My old one for mute was Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M. Worked like a charm and it's actually much easier to use than it looks. Please, get some sense or even better, make global hotkeys customizable. Otherwise there are going to be conflicts, resulting in complaints.
we do not need the global hotkeys. We need the customizable hotkeys. Everyone has owns preferences. So please make it as it was in v.7. And yes, it is still better/has more functions as in v.8, so it was not the improvement from MS.
Please return hot keys ..
Return the ability to customize the hot keys, I can not put the activation of the microphone on the button during a call. And everyone is forced to listen to how my cat wants a cat.
Why do I can not customization for hotkeys and shortcuts by myself instead of customization by Skype? Sorry for complainant.

It has always been there, you took it out, and now it is ... coming soon .. Disgraceful!

Answering calls with custom shortcuts would be VERY usefull for example for users that have laptops with extraordinary buttons or just everyone that wants to answer calls with some keyboard shortcut

Won't be easy to do this if they're only programming once and building that for each platform since global hotkeys are hard to implement on mobiles and tablets.

Please, please, please bring back configurable hotkeys! Without it, I find this app frustrating and extremely annoying. You will start to lose more and more users if you keep updating to inferior versions of software. Wish you hadn't forced me to update to the new version of Skype :( Might have to look for an alternative solution, as the new Skype is rubbish.
BRING BACK TOGGLE MUTE HOTKEY CONFIGURATION!!
Please also bring back the "answer call" hotkey and "focus Skype" hotkey.
There was an option where you can focus or hide skype with hot keys, BRING IT BACK!
Please bring back GLOBAL hotkeys.

I was forced to upgrade to version 8 and I see you still cannot assign you own personal hot key combination for things like answering a call or hanging up. This issue makes Skype nearly useless to me. I kept version 7 because I needed the key combinations and since I still had 7 I kept my paid service but I now plan to discontinue my service.
Shortcuts Key for searching person - currently CTRL + F does search in the current conversation. It should be global like Slack does. On Slack, CTRL + K does global search.
This is very helpful when you've to multiple people in a day.
My aunt has more than 80 years. She uses skype. She lives by her own and skype is the way we keep in touch with her. She has a lot of trouble controlling the pointer to turn on and off the camera. Would it be possible that you make the camera turns on and off by clicking on a keyboard key? Please!!! We would appreciate it a lot!!!!
I used hotkeys to bring Skype to the front, answer calls, hang up, mute, etc.
Without them, it's impossible to use Skype with the keyboard only.
I didn't mind keep using the old version, why did you force me to upgrade to a version without hotkeys?

PUSH TO TALK..... TOGGLE MUTE........ THIS is unbelievable you guys force this update to a less superior application....

Hotkeys should ideally be configurable, but must be optional to avoid problems with other applications.
Add option to disable hotkeys on Windows 10! Also the "Report a problem" link doesn't work! Lol very nice!
