Bring back split view
Allow me to keep my recents/contacts separate and open a new window for every conversation I have
I’m happy to say that we’ve enabled this feature for all Skype for Windows 10 users in version 8.34+ available from Microsoft Store. To find out more about split view check out this link: https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA34880/how-do-i-use-split-window-view-in-skype

Now if only it could be made the default mode it would be almost as good as it once was.
THIS IS FABULOUS !! Now, you need to make it where we can tell that split window where to open, and always open in the same spot, instead of always opening in the default location ( which is always where I dont want it ). Msn messanger had this abillity and it was simply the icing on the cake ! :) This truely was the biggest loss going from MSN too Skype back in the roll-over days. Thanks for bringing it back. In a business world this has a huge relevance in how it functions for my sales team.

How do I use split window view in Skype :
Thomas Ashmore commented
I just downloaded & installed Skype on my new computer. That option is not showing up.
Thank you for bringing this back. Can I ask for some improvements?
1. Open new window automatically when a new message is received and flash taskbar button.
2. Flash taskbar button when a message is received in a chat window.
3. Close chat window when Esc key is pressed.
I am with app version 12.1815.210.1000 and desktop version 22.214.171.124, and I don't have split window view on either one of them. WTF?
This idea, which as you can see above originated from a MS employee(!), has been effectively cancelled:
Nope you didn't
Desktop version, the only USABLE version still has no split view
still NOT available or the desktop version!!!!
Yes Please keep the split view and having the chat
Dont have option to split windows!
Please add to skype for desktop application, still not in 126.96.36.199 as mentioned below.

Skype for Windows is NOT Skype for Desktop which most people seem to be interested. So, please, that feature is far from Completed after all. No Split View option in Skype for Desktop to be seen after all.
Kindly take feedback here on User Voice serious. Thanks, much appreciated.
PS: The UWP version isn't that relevant compared to Desktop.

I've Skype version 184.108.40.206 and there is no split view feature. Can someone from Skype please respond to this.
I have windows 10 but i don'l like to run skype from apps cause i disabled all of theme for desktop (i have the phone for those), so I'd like to use this split window feature for the desktop version of skype. Thank you!
Please resolve this very soon! Doesn't work yet, there's no Split View option on the more button..
I have Skype 220.127.116.11 (the one I had to install by force) and it doesn't exist. I installed in another computer the version finishing by 038, which is the one that appeared in that computer for first time and it has that feature, but not in the version I have posted above. It is really annoying, the same happened to my friend, we really don't like it. It is not good for the use we give.
On another thing, now when you do a double click on the window with the video it does not extend.
Please, could you fix at least the split window for this version or tell us how to change. Or if someone else know any other software like this that can be replaced by skype please let me know.
so why is it not working for version 18.104.22.168? why bring it back for taking it away again??
